Main Events
Richard leaves the People's Palace. Constance attacks him with her Agiel, but Richard uses Denna's Agiel against her, killing her. He gets a horse from the guards and rides toward the Rongshadda Mountains. He remembers a guard's advice about a dragon on the right-hand road. He goes to find Scarlet, the red dragon. She initially wants to eat him, but Richard convinces her to help him by offering to help her get her egg back from Lord Darken Rahl. He explains that Rahl stole her egg and is using it to control her. Scarlet agrees to the bargain: Richard will help her get her egg back, then she will fly him around for six days to help him find his friends and stop Rahl.
